AQR’s chief custodian urges immediate modifications to facilitate disabled people’s pilgrimage

International Day for Persons with Disabilities provides me with an opportunity to ask AQR’s managers for a report on the condition of holy shrine and related organizations with regard to pilgrimage of people with disabilities.

Hawzah News Agency (Mashhad, Iran) – In a message on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, Astan Quds Razavi’s chief custodian has urged immediate preparations and modifications in Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine’s courtyards and porticos to facilitate pilgrimage of people with disabilities.

Hoj. Ahmad Marvi’s message reads:

In the Name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful

International Day of Persons with Disabilities is a day for commemoration of values. It’s a day to approve that strong will can make way. It’s a day to show that every one can.

International Day for Persons with Disabilities provides me with an opportunity to ask AQR’s managers for a report on the condition of holy shrine and related organizations with regard to pilgrimage of people with disabilities. The day also tempted me to urge for doing all necessary preparations and modifications for an easy pilgrimage of people with disabilities.

Improving and facilitating commuting of people with disabilities, war veterans and persons with vision impairment inside Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine particularly in the paths to the holy chamber must be a priority for the organization’s managers. No inconvenience, however trivial, in the pilgrimage of people with disabilities is allowed and all pilgrimage difficulties have to be settled in no time.

Municipality of Mashhad and other administrative bodies are also required to deal the issue with sensitivity so that appropriate situation for an easy commuting could be provided for the people with disabilities inside the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS); upon cooperation among the city’s various organizations, we can think about quality of pilgrimage by people with disabilities throughout the year.

Ahmad Marvi

Astan Quds Razavi’s Chief Custodian
