Turkey won’t back any peace plan not accepted by Palestinians: Erdogan

Speaking at the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) parliamentary group meeting on Wednesday, Erdogan said Turkey will do whatever is necessary to protect the rights of Palestinians.

Hawzah News Agency - (Ankara - Turkey) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Ankara will not support any peace plan that is not accepted by the Palestinian people.Speaking at the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) parliamentary group meeting on Wednesday, Erdogan said Turkey will do whatever is necessary to protect the rights of Palestinians.

Referring to the US’ so-called peace plan, he said it is actually an “occupation project”.

“The main goal of Trump’s Middle East plan is to legitimize Israel’s relentless policies of occupation, destruction and annexation which have been going on for 70 years,” the Turkish president stated.

“We will never support a plan that does not include our Palestinian brothers.”

US President Donald Trump Last week unveiled his long-delayed Middle East plan, a proposal Palestinian leaders called a “conspiracy” that “will not pass”.

The American plan has sparked widespread international condemnation.

The deal of century ploy, fronted by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, had already been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the White House's policies have been blatantly biased in favor of Israel.
