Pakistani Muslims mark birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad

This interfaith gathering is a glimpse of hope and a show of harmony and peace for Pakistanis to seek blessings from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Hawzah News Agency - This gathering is held in days when Pakistan is fighting a war against terrorists. They lit 30,000 clay lamps in vigils to pay tribute to the Prophet on behalf of those perished while fighting against terrorist groups.

This interfaith gathering is a glimpse of hope and a show of harmony and peace for Pakistanis to seek blessings from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Hindu, Christian, and all sects of Pakistani Muslims participated in the celebrations. This year, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) coincided with the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the spiritual leader of Sikhism. Participants showed solidarity with the Sikh community on this occasion.

Leaders stressed peace, as the true message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The organizers managed to bring former hardliners to the gathering, with many here describing it a success of peace over hate.

This unity week was initiated by Imam Khomeini, the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Republic, to get all the different sects of Islam closer to each other.
