It also gave the force a chance to talk about upcoming recruitment plans.

Superintendent Suk Verma said: "It's very important for the force to go into our local communities and talk to people about a range of topics.

"We were also able to discuss challenges that diverse communities face including hate crime, violence, Asian gold breaks.

"The evening gave us an opportunity for us to physically go into the diverse communities and present on policing and local challenges.

"We understand that people will not always come to us or ring us, so these events are important. We hope to have further events lined up in other parts across the county as part of the force's positive action strategy for Operation Uplift.

"This event not only supports our recruitment drive, but also is an opportunity to build community relations.
