Islamic Revolution heartened Palestinians: Analys

Islamic Revolution of Iran that took place in 1979 doubled the self-confidence of the Palestinians whose country was occupied by the Zionist regime. Analyst said that the Islamic Revolution changed the balance of power in region. "The Islamic Revolution made the people of the region, especially Palestine, Lebanon, and Afghanistan, more confident."

Hawzah News Agency (Beirut, Lebanon) - "Iranian people toppled the shah who was a close friend of the Zionist regime, so the fall injected new blood to the people of Palestine," said Moneer Shafiq.

He added: "The Islamic Revolution removed a strong barrier and created a new horizon to the freedom-seeking combat of the people of the region and Palestine. Iran is the only country that talks about annihilation of the Zionist regime and militarily and financially backs the people of Palestine and Lebanon."

According to Shafiq, with Imam Khomeini's order to close down the Israeli embassy and to open the Palestinian one, a new way was opened and later Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei carried on the path honestly and strongly.

Referring to the incessant contact of Iran with Palestinian groups, he said that the Islamic Revolution once again proved that Islam can be inspiring in the path of resistance.

Shafiq said that the Islamic Revolution changed the balance of power in region. "Now after 40 years later, we see a totally different situation. The Islamic Revolution made the people of the region, especially Palestine, Lebanon, and Afghanistan, more confident."
