Orthodox Woman has kept Qur’an for ۲۷ Years and returned it to Aladza Mosque

“When I asked her if I need to do something in return because this book was of great value, she told me: Only when you pray, remember me because I am a believer too,”

Hawzah News Agency (Foča, Bosnia and Herzegovina) –  A sample of Qur’an is returned to the Aladza mosque in Foca, which was found after the demolition of the mosque by VRS back in 1993 and since then, has been preserved by one woman for 27 years.

She was keeping the Qur’an for 27 years, and the day after the opening of the restored mosque, left the Quran to a merchant in Gorazde Mensur Kadric, with the request to return it to the people he belongs to.

After the prayer on Friday, Kadric handed the holy book to the imam of the mosque, and could not hide the emotions.

“I have fulfilled my duties because I was obliged by the lady of Orthodox faith to return the Qur’an to those to which it belongs, which I did today, and I was glad and relieved because this book of God belongs to Foca and people who live in Foca,” said Kadric.

He recalled the day when the women, who for security reasons, did not want to reveal her identity, entered the store in the settlement of Dzindici, between Foca and Gorazde.

“When I was alone in the market, she asked me if I was a believer and I replied that I am. Then she told me that she had found the holy book near Aladza mosque after it was demolished and she preserved it during the war,” Kadric recalls.

“When I asked her if I need to do something in return because this book was of great value, she told me: Only when you pray, remember me because I am a believer too,” explains Kadric.
