Worshipers urged to be 'vigilant' after two mosques vandalized just hours apart

Worshipers have been warned to be vigilant after two mosques in the same town were vandalized and burgled overnight.

Hawzah News Agency (Lancashire , UK) – Police were called to Masjid-al-Momineen in Blackburn, Lancashire, at 6.14am yesterday to reports of a burglary.

Property inside the Ash Street building was also damaged including to a door and a cupboard.

Lancashire Police were also made aware of a burglary at Madena Mosque, less than half a mile away on Oak Street.

It is thought to have occurred at some point between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Damage was caused the a safe on the premises. Lancashire Council of Mosques are urging people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Police are investigating.
