Zarif cautions Muslim States against new Washington's plots

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif strongly blasted US President Donald Trump for his recent decision on Syria's Golan Heights, and warned the Arab and Muslim countries to beware of US new plots.

Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) - "Trump’s lawless announcement on 'Occupied Syrian Golan' after last year’s on 'Occupied Al-Quds' is a sobering reminder for our Arab and Muslim brethren: US & Israel will offer you handshakes, but no matter how much you kowtow, they will still steal your lands. Let us unite," Zarif wrote on his Twitter page on Thursday.

The Iranian foreign minister's remarks came after Trump tweeted on Thursday that after 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel's Sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

On December 6, 2017, Trump decided to relocate the US diplomatic mission from Tel Aviv to Holy Quds and to recognize Quds as the capital city of the Zionist regime of Israel.

In a relevant development earlier this week, Syrian Foreign Ministry said that in a flagrant aggression on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, the US President has recognized the annexation of the occupied Syrian Golan to the Zionist occupation entity.

The US decision indicates US hostility against Arab world, the statement said, adding that Washington proved that it is the most important enemy of the Arab world.

The Lebanese foreign ministry also in a statement condemned Trump’s decision to recognize Israel sovereignty on Golan Heights.

"The US presidential declaration on Israel's right to annex the Syrian Golan is condemnable and breaches all rules of international law, undermining any effort to reach a just peace," the Lebanese foreign ministry said.
