Thousands of pupils visit places of worship across Bolton

Interfaith Council, the work they do, what they are doing at the moment, issues they are dealing with.

Hawzah News Agency (Bolton, UK) – Last year 4,751 children took part in 142 visits to places of worship across the borough.

The visits were organized by Bolton Interfaith Council and pupils from primary and secondary schools, Special Education Needs groups and community groups like Scouts and Guides all took part in the visits.

Children have the chance to visit churches, mosques and mandirs.

Chan Parmar a spokesman for the interfaith council said: "This is a wonderful example of Partnership Working between faith and many community groups, places of worships, individuals and volunteers supporting this excellent project."

He added: "This is an amazing project with many benefits in terms of community cohesion and enhancing knowledge."
