Quranic center for women opens in Libya

A specialized Quran memorization center for women was launched in Jalu town in Al-Wahat District, northeastern Libya.

Hawzah News Agency (Al-Wahat District, Libya) - According to alwasat.ly, the main objective of the center is to promote the Quranic culture among women in the region.

Representatives from Libya’s Awqaf (endowments) Office were present at the opening ceremony of the center.

Muhammad Buthamaniah, in charge of the center, thanked the citizens for their contributions, saying that the center was built in 4 years in cooperation with the people of the town.

Libya is a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Egypt to the east, Sudan to the southeast, Chad and Niger to the south and Algeria and Tunisia to the west.

About 97 percent of the population in Libya are Muslims.
