Hawzah News Agency (Occupied Territories of Palestine) - A Wednesday statement by the Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) quoted a PPS lawyer as stating that al-Kiswani, from Occupied Jerusalem, suffers severe backaches inflicted by the torture tactics pursued by the Israeli occupation authorities during the interrogation phase.

Held captive since March 7, 2018, al-Kiswani has not received proper medical treatment in Israeli lock-ups, where medics have only provided him with light pain soothers.

The lawyer added, following a visit to the Ofer jail, that traces of heavy beating appeared all over the detainee's body. Al-Kiswani had been aggressively beaten by Israeli officers using an electric truncheon along with soldier boots.

He had been exhaustively interrogated in the Mascoubiya detention center for up to 18 hours a day. As a result he had spent sleepless nights.

The statement further noted that al-Kiswani had been tied to a metal chair since the first day of his detention and banned from lawyer-visits for a couple of months as part of the ongoing psycho-physical torture he has been subjected to.
