Pundit: Saudis starving Yemenis to death to impose their will

Saudi Arabia has been engaged in an “imperialist” war in Yemen, an academic says, adding that the Saudis are starving the Yemenis to death just like the Nazi forces did in World War II in order to impose their will.

Hawzah News Agency (Manama, Bahrain)- “They are bombing people, they are starving people, they are blocking the ports and the United States with its military, with its logistics, with its money is aiding and abetting. So the United States is very criminal in its behavior, and of course you have the UK, you have France and other Western imperialist powers that are supporting this war because they have realized that the Yemeni people are posing a tremendous threat to the entire Western world right now because they are standing up to our little dictator in the Middle East -- Saudi Arabia,” Colin Cavell, a lecturer at the University of Bahrain told in an interview on Friday.

Saudi Arabia and its allies launched the war on Yemen in March 2015 to reinstall Yemen’s former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and an accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.

Several Western countries, the US and the UK in particular, are accused of being complicit in the aggression as they supply the Riyadh regime with advanced weapons and military equipment as well as logistical and intelligence assistance.

End.
