Hawzah News Agency (Accra, Ghana) - According to ICRO, 36 students took part in the contest.
A large number of Muslims and members of religious institutes were present at venue of the contest earlier this week.
Also present was Iranian Cultural Attaché Mohammad Hassan Ipakchi.
In an address at the awarding ceremony, Ipakchi highlighted the status of the Holy Quran among Muslims in Ghana.
He also invited the contenders to take part in a Quran contest planned to be held by the Iranian Cultural Center during the holy month of Ramadan.
Ghana is a country in West Africa. Islam is one of the major religions practiced widely in the country. Its presence in modern-day Ghana dates back to the 10th century.
The population of Muslims in Ghana makes up about 24 percent of the population.
