Hawzah News Agency’s 3rd workshop on ‘improving media literacy among seminary students’ was held at the Ayatollah Alam al-Huda seminary in Tehran.

Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) - The ‘getting to know media streams’ workshop from the series of Hawzah News Agency’s meetings on ‘improving media literacy among clerics’ was held at the Ayatollah Alam al-Huda seminary of Tehran.

During the meeting, Hassan Sadraei Aref, chief editor of HawzahNews discussed the media history of the intellectuals and traditional groups and stressed on improving media literacy among seminary students.

Emphasizing the necessity of seminary students getting to know national and international media streams, Sadraei Aref stated, “Young seminary students are going to become Islamic missionaries in the future, so they must have the necessary knowledge of media streams and current world issues.”

At the other part of the meeting, Ali Alizadeh editor of provinces section of the Iran’s seminary official media explained the history of founding HawzahNews and pointed out the role of the seminary media in the comprehensive coverage of the promotional, cultural and scientific activities of the scholars, seminary students and elites. Alizadeh asserted, “In addition to coverage of seminary events across the country and the international arena, HawzahNews plays a pivotal role in spreading the word about the many achievements and outcomes of the Shia seminaries in various fields.”
