Head of Iran’s Islamic culture and communication organization who is visiting Greece, met with Archbishop of Greece and discussed interfaith dialogue.

Hawzah News Agency (Athens, Greece) - Head of Iran’s Islamic culture and communication organization who is visiting Greece, met with Archbishop of Greece, earlier today. During the meeting, Aboozar Ebrahimi Torkaman and Archbishop Ieronymos II discussed developing cooperation between Iran and Greece in cultural fields and strengthening interfaith dialogue.

Emphasizing the need for extending dialogue between all religions, Archbishop Ieronymos II announced the readiness of the Greek Orthodox Church to help develop interfaith dialogue.

Archbishop of Greece assessed the seventh round of talks between Islam and Orthodox Christianity as positive and said, “Continuing this round of talks in Tehran could play a significant role in the interactions between the two countries.”

Head of Iran’s Islamic culture and communication organization for his part, stressed on the role of religious dialogues and religious leaders in resolving the world’s problems and promoting divine values.

Ebrahimi Torkaman called dialogue the direct way to achieve mutual understanding among religions and stated, “Dialogue develops the sight of followers of religions.”

After this meeting, Iran’s Ebrahimi Torkaman met with Greece’s minister of culture and minster of religious education and affairs.
