Hezbollah issues condolences over death of Yemeni top official

Lebanese Hezbollah in a statement condoled with Yemen over death of President of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen 'Saleh Ali al-Sammad' who was killed in Saudi air strikes in Al Hudaydah province.

Hawzah News Agency (Beirut, Lebanon) - "The Supreme Political Council announced in its meeting on Monday the martyrdom of President Saleh Al-Sammad.

"This exceptional man held the responsibility, during the hardest stage, of confronting the most powerful aggression in the region, reaching his most precious goal of embracing martyrdom while defending his country," Lebanese media 'Al Manar' quoted Hezbollah as saying in a statement.

"Agonized by the crimes and massacres which have been striking the funerals, wedding, popular markets, and the national facilities and infrastructure for over three years, Hezbollah denounces the suspicious international silence about this major strike, calling on the conscientious governments, organizations and people to support the oppressed Yemeni people and expose the US-Saudi aggression in order to halt it," Al Manar reported.

"The steadfast and patient Yemenis, who have not backed off in face of the barbaric aggression for over 1100 days, are currently able to surpass this great loss," the statement reads.

Thousands of Yemenis have been killed in the attacks by the Saudi-US coalition and more than 2,000 have died due to a cholera epidemic.

Saudis, in their latest war crime in Yemen, bombarded a wedding party in Hajjah and killed dozens of innocent civilians, including children.
