The Iraqi scholar received Dr. Keppel and they discussed the big challenges faced by the Islamic world.

Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) - Dr. Gale Keppel French orientalist, along with a French delegation visited the holy city of Najaf.

Dr. Keppel, who is a researcher in the field of Islamic groups and fighting extremism, visited the holy shrine of Imam Ali (as) and met with Najaf’s sources of emulation and scholars.

Dr. Keppel was received by the Iraqi scholar Ayatollah Shaikh Muhammad Yaghoubi and they discussed the big challenges faced by the Islamic world.

During the meeting, Ayatollah Yaghoubi explained the challenges of forming government in Iraq and the role of the religious authority of Najaf in establishing peaceful coexistence among the various groups of the country.

The Iraqi scholar emphasized, “The best approach is having constructive dialogue between different viewpoints in a loving and friendly manner, just like what the Ahlulbayt (as) have stressed upon.”

At the end of the meeting, Ayatollah Yaghoubi gifted a book called “the path of peace” to the French researcher and asserted, “We do not just invite to peace, but we also emphasize on a step after peace and tranquility, which is kindness and friendship with others.” The French delegation, for their part, expressed gratitude to Ayatollah Yaghoubi.
