“The seminary of Najaf supports interfaith projects and events with the aim of removing hatred and prejudice against religions so that the entire world could become familiar with genuine Islamic teachings.” said Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi.

Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – Different groups of people including Iraqi popular mobilization forces, Lebanese Shia Muslims as well as the Italian Institute for Interfaith Dialogue had separate meetings with senior Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Bashir Al-Najafi in the holy city of Najaf on Sunday, March 11.

 

During his meeting with Iraqi forces the senior scholar remarked, “The future of Iraq is a sensitive stage as your victory over ISIS terrorists must be followed by their prosecution until the last one the takfiri terrorists are perished from the country. The terrorists are out to intimidate Iraqi people and to undermine the security of the country.”

 

In a separate meeting, a group of Italian Christians from Agio Institute for Interfaith Dialogue along with some members of Ayatollah Al-Khoei foundation met with Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafi during which they discussed the possibility of holding interfaith conferences in the holy city of Najaf in future.

 

The revered source of emulation Ayatollah al-Najafi welcomed the idea of hosting interfaith events in Najaf saying, “The seminary of Najaf supports interfaith projects and events with the aim of removing hatred and prejudice against religions so that the entire world could become familiar with genuine Islamic teachings.”
