۱۳ ISIS militants killed in northern Afghanistan

Afghan security forces have killed 13 members of the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group, an Afghan spokesman said.

Hawzah News Agency (DarzabAfghanistan) Mohammad Reza Qafouzi, the spokesman for the governor general of Jowzjan Province, north of Afghanistan, said the terrorist elements were killed in an attack by the security forces in the province’s Darzab district.

He said 5 other members of Daesh were injured in the attack.

Iranian officials have frequently warned that those who created Daesh are seeking to move it to Afghanistan after its defeats in Iraq and Syria.

“The very same hands that created Daesh to use it as an instrument for oppression and crime against the people of Syria and Iraq, now and after facing defeat in the regions, are seeking to relocate Daesh to Afghanistan,” the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said in January.

Ayatollah Khamenei made it clear that the US government is behind the emergence of Daesh in the region and said that by relocating Daesh to Afghanistan, Washington aims to legitimize its military presence in the region and ensure the security of the Zionist regime of Israel.

End.
