'In the Name of God
The Permanent Secretariat of the International Conference on Supporting Palestinian Intifada at the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran strongly condemns the provocative action of the US in claiming a deadline for relocating its embassy to City of al-Quds.
This action, on Nakba Day is a provocative behavior and will hurt the feelings of the Islamic Ummah, Arab countries and the Palestinian nation.
Undoubtedly, such an action by the United States and the Zionist regime in the occupied territories of Palestine can never distort historical facts about Palestinian nation and will not bring about any sort of legitimacy for the Quds-occupying regime.
The Islamic world as well as public opinion of the world fully believes that the great city of al-Quds will remain forever as the capital city for historical Palestinian land and the real borders of Palestine will be defined by blood and resistance of free and justice-seeking strugglers.
The Permanent Secretariat of the International Conference on Supporting Palestinian Intifada urges all parliaments, international institutions, the European Parliament, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Non-Aligned Movement to condemn this interfering decision of the United States which can mobilize the entire region against the Zionist regime and therefore to take necessary measures in order to change the US position.'
US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement, "In May, the United States plans to open a new US Embassy in Jerusalem". The date coincides Nakba Day on which hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced from their land and were replaced by the newcomers that had occupied Palestinian lands to establish Israel.
US President Donald Trump announced last year, as a "campaign promise", he would move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to the Holy Quds, although strongly objected by the Palestinians and the rest of the world.
The decision is announced, contrary to Vice President Mike Pence last month's speech in the Israeli Parliament; then, he said that the new embassy would open "before the end of next year."
Although 14 members of the UNSC voted for a resolution against Trump's decision, the US vetoed the resolution, which was later confirmed in the General Assembly (UNGA).
