Bahraini youth group: Sheikh Isa Qassim’s life is in danger

According to the Bahraini youth group, the ailing cleric is being denied proper medical treatment after undergoing surgery last week. It was the second time that the 80-year-old had undergone an operation in just under two months.

Hawzah News Agency (Manama, Bahrain) -  Bahrain's "Coalition Youth of 14 February Revolution" condemned the continuing house arrest of the country's highest religious authority Sheikh Isa Qassim and warned that his life is in danger.

According to the Bahraini youth group, the ailing cleric is being denied proper medical treatment after undergoing surgery last week.

Sheikh Qassim was discharged from hospital shortly after the operation and returned to his home in Diraz over the weekend.

It was the second time that the 80-year-old had undergone an operation in just under two months. Last December, he received desperately needed treatment for an abdominal hernia.

In a brief statement, the Coalition held Manama accountable for the senior cleric's well-being.
