Larijani Stresses Further Expansion of Ties with Muslim States

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined the necessity for the further broadening of relations and cooperation with the Muslim states.

Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran)- Larijani made the remarks in separate meetings with the parliamentary delegations from Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Kyrgyzstan and Lebanon on the sidelines of the 13th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states (PUIC) in Tehran on Wednesday.

During his meeting with Vice-Speaker of the Moroccan parliament Abdolwahed al-Ansari, Larijani underscored Iran's interest in paving the ground for continued cooperation.

"The relations should be expanded in economic, political and cultural fields and specially, the businesspersons of both countries should grow acquainted with each other," he said.

Also in his meeting with Vice-Speaker of Mauritania Mohammad Sheikh, Larijani stressed the necessity for bolstering all-out mutual cooperation.

"There are many grounds for cooperation between the two countries and the current conference is a proper opportunity to understand these fields and expand relations," he added.

Meantime, in a meeting with his Malian counterpart Issaka Sidibe, Larijani underlined friendly relations between the two countries.

"We are willing to continue our relations with Mali in different economic, political and cultural fields," he said.

Also, Larijani held a separate meeting with the vice-speaker of Kyrgyzstan parliament in which he emphasized the need for the development of bilateral economic and trade ties.

"Iran and Kyrgyzstan can cooperate in different agricultural fields, specially production of meat and chicken," he added.

Meantime, in a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri, the Iranian top legislator stressed the necessity for the further expansion of relations.

He also underlined Iran's wish for the establishment of peace and stability in other countries, and said, "We hope to be able through talks to find political solutions to resolve problems."
