Seminary, the agent of preserving cultural independence

The Shia scholar emphasized the importance of preserving the seminary's independence. Ayatollah Javadi Amoli added, It is 'very, very' necessary for us to learn science. reason and science can maintain the pillar of culture.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) - Ayatollah Javadi Amoli received a number of members of the board of directors of the Assembly of Representatives of Qom Seminary Scholars at Isra international foundation in Qom on Tuesday, January 16.

During the meeting, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli emphasized the importance of preserving the seminary’s independence and remarked, “If seminary isn’t independent itself, it would not be able to urge the country to be independent."

 

The Shia scholar went on to say, "Seminary's independence is a cultural independence, that is, as the government's duty is to maintain the pillar of the economy, preservation of the pillar of culture is the seminary’s job and it should be the agent of cultural independence of the society and the nation."

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli concluded, "According to our religion, it is 'very, very' necessary for us to learn science. reason and science can maintain the pillar of culture, so the seminary that is responsible for cultural independence must be very rich and strong in scientific aspects."
