Egypt’s Quran Radio to Air Program to Counter Takfiri Ideologies

The Quran radio of Egypt plans to produce a program to counter the ideologies of Takfiri groups and refute the Fatwas of Ibn Taymiyyah.

Hawzah News Agency (Cairo, Egypt)-  The Quran radio of Egypt plans to produce a program to counter the ideologies of Takfiri and terrorist groups and refute the Fatwas (religious edict) of Ibn Taymiyyah.

According to al-Yawm al-Sabi, the program, Hassan Suleiman, the director of the Quran radio will be the presenter in the program, titled Fatawi.

He will invite experts and scholars to discuss Takfiri ideologies and disprove their ideas.

Ibn Taymiyyah (1263 – 1328), who was a polarizing figure in his own lifetime, has had considerable influence on contemporary Wahhabism, Salafism, and Takfirism.

Takfiris, like members of the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group, accuse other Muslims (and adherents of another Abrahamic faiths) of apostasy and consider killing them permissible.

End.
