Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) - Accompanied with Syrian ambassador to Iran, Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, the Grand Mufti of Syria who is vising Qom, had meetings with Qom senior scholars.

In a meeting with Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, Sheikh Ahmad Hassoun stressed that victory in Syria happened with the divine help and expressed hope that Palestine will be free soon. He added, "Palestine is our compass that God has promised its victory."

Sheikh Hassoun also met with Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani. Ayatollah Noori Hamedani emphasized the importance of unity to get rid of Zionism and said, “As long as Zionists are in the region, there will be trouble.”

In a meeting with head of Iranian Islamic seminaries, Sheikh Hassoun stressed on the importance of unity between Muslims and said, “Shia and Sunni extremists represent themselves, not these two denominations.”

In this meeting, Ayatollah Arafi also emphasized on unity and stated, “In our opinion, the dialogue of unity is based on Islam and the teachings of the Ahlul-Bayt (as).”
