Third Islamic convention starts in Abuja today

The third Islamic Convention opens in Abuja, Nigeria with the major focus on rejuvenating the contemporary Muslim family. It is being hosted by Abuja based 1Ummah.

Hawzah News Agency (Abuja, Nigeria) -The third Islamic Convention opens in Abuja today with the major focus on rejuvenating the contemporary Muslim family. It is being hosted by Abuja based 1Ummah.   

President of 1Ummah, Ustaz Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad said the organisation has been involved in organising Islamic Conventions, free medical outreach, and offering scholarships to the orphaned children in the North-East in Abuja. 

According to him, this year’s theme is: Rejuvenating the contemporary Muslim family. The aim is to address the problems of Muslim homes today like in marriages and homes based on the Qur’an and teaching of Prophet Muhammad. 

Ustaz Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad said the two-day convention will take place by nine in the morning with the first day event scheduled for Sat December 2, A-Class Park, Abuja and the second day event scheduled for Sunday, December 3 at the International Conference Centre. 

He said the convention would address the peace and unity which is the cardinal teaching of Islam. He then called on the younger generation to avoid unlawful acts like drug addiction and be tolerant with others.  

Scholars expected to grace the occasion includes: Sheikhs Mufti Ismail Menk, Ibrahim Baam, Muhammad Salah, Isa Ali Fantami, Muhammad Bin Usman, Ustaz Abdulfatah Adeyemi, Nuruddeen Lemu, Bashir Mundi and Isa Okonkwo. While the sisters includes: Ummu Zakiyya, Salatu Sule, Madeenah Sanni (MTalk), Faridah Mukhtar and Halima Sani.
