۵۰ Muslim countries participate in Khartoum Int’l Quran Contest

As many as 50 Arab and Muslim countries have announced their readiness to send representatives to the 9th Khartoum International Quran Award.

Hawzah News Agency (Khartoum, Sudan) - According to the website of Sudan’s Quran Association, the organizer of the contest, the participation of 75 contenders in the upcoming Quranic event has been conformed so far.

Abdul Rahman Muhammad Ali Saeed, secretary general of the association, said all the preparations have been made for organizing the 9th edition of the competition.

 

He said it will kick off in the Sudanese capital on January 13, 2018, with a speech by the Arab country’s president.

Members of the panel of judges, comprising Quran experts from different countries, will arrive in Khartoum in the first week of January, he added.

 

Iran will be among the countries attending the international Quran award.

Mohammad Rasoul Takbiri, a memorizer of the entire Quran, will represent the Islamic Republic in the competition.

 

In 2016, Mohammad Khakpour competed for Iran in the 8th edition of the Khartoum Quran contest, which was attended by 55 countries.
