The Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan of Imam Hussein’s holy shrine started a new Quranic plan for the millions of pilgrims travelling to the holy city of Karbala on the occasion of Arbaeen. The main objective of the plan is to help the pilgrims make the best use of the spiritual opportunity and contemplate on Quranic verses and their meanings.

Hawzah News Agency (Karbala, Iraq) - The Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s holy shrine started a new Quranic plan titled “La Tahjarul-Quran” (do not abandon the Quran) for the millions of pilgrims travelling to the holy city of Karbala on the occasion of Arbaeen.

According to the website of the Astan, the title of the plan has been taken from the verse 20 of Surah Muzzammil: "faqrau ma tayassara min al-Quran” (recite as much of the Quran as you can).

The main objective of the plan is to help the pilgrims make the best use of the spiritual opportunity and contemplate on Quranic verses and their meanings.

Safa Seilawi, head of the information section of the Dar-ol-Quran center, said that posters and banners containing Hadiths of Ahlul-Bayt (as) encouraging the pilgrims to read the Quran have also been put on display in the holy city of Karbala and on the roads leading to the city.

He added that the plan also aims at stressing the relation between the objectives of Imam Hussein’s (as) uprising and Quranic teachings and the necessity for taking the Imam (as) as a role-model.
