"the issue of Rohingya Muslims must not be taken for granted since they are still coping with numerous crises as they do not have safety inside and beyond Myanmar borders.”" said Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Senior Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi received members of Iranian Red Crescent Organization in Qom on Sunday during which he voiced support for Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar saying; “As a matter fact, the issue of Rohingya Muslims must not be taken for granted since they are still coping with numerous crises as they do not have safety inside and beyond Myanmar borders.”

The revered Shia source of emulation added, “It’s wishful thinking to wait for International bodies to stand up for Rohingya Muslims and take action against atrocities that are being carried out in Rohingya. The international organizations only care about their own interests and try to protect their own rights. “

“We, however, as Muslim community are responsible to stand united in order to help our religious brothers in Myanmar.”

Grand Ayatollah further added, “Islamic countries are great in number, if we join our forces in terms of political as well as economic capabilities, we are able to address the issue of Rohingya Muslims and come up with a solution. “

Pointing out the terrible conditions that Myanmar Muslims are going through, the cleric asserted, “A person in good conscious would feel sad by looking at Rohingya Muslims. I really hope that all Muslims join hands to solve this issue.”

End.
