“Islam is distinguished from terrorism” Christian leaders

Lebanese Christian leader stressed disavowal of Islam from terrorist attacks committed under the name of Islam. //"If we withdraw the region we will give space for terrorists and the Middle East will turn into a hub of threat against global peace."

Hawzah News Agency (Salt Lake City, USA) - Patriarch Moran Bechara al-Rahi, head of Lebanon’s Maronite Church, in his remarks in Salt Lake City highlighted the difference between Islam and terrorist measures calling Muslim and Christians not to leave the Middle East because of terrorist attacks.

He said, "Terrorist measures are one issue and Islam is another; hence, there is much difference between terrorist organizations who kill people under the name of Islam and the true religion of Islam."

The Christian patriarch noted, "The major part of terrorist groups including Daesh and Qaeda who have entered the Middle East are supported and trained by foreign countries to fuel the fire of war in the region."

Patriarch al-Rahi referred to the thirteen centuries of co-existence between different religions in the Middle East and said, "If we withdraw the region we will give space for terrorists and the Middle East will turn into a hub of threat against global peace."

Head of Maronite Church called for an end to violence and said, "It is high time that true peace dominated the world and it is a mission of the international body to see into the objective."
