Hawzah News Agency (Wisconsin, US) - The Franciscan Spirituality Center started a four-week series Thursday night called "My neighbor is a Muslim."

The idea is to help people of all faiths learn more about the religion of Islam and the people who practice it.

Vince Hatt, chair of the La Crosse Area Interfaith Shoulder to Shoulder Network, says they believe the path to world peace starts with people at the local level understanding and accepting eachother.

"Half of the people in the world are either Muslim or Christian," said Hatt. "If we want to have peace in this world, it will depend upon how Christians and Muslims learn how to live together."

The first session was held Thursday night, but there are still three more scheduled over the next few weeks.
