The president of the university of Religions and Denominations:
The necessity of standing against ignorant, violent impressions of Islam
Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossain Mokhtari the president of the university of Religions and Denominations made some remarks on the university’s duty to stand against ignorant impressions of Islam.

Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) –The opening ceremony of the university of Religions and Denominations’ new academic year was held this week and was widely attended by many Sunni and Shia students. The university president and deans also attended the ceremony.

At this ceremony, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Hossain Mokhtari the president of the university of Religions and Denominations made some remarks on the university’s duty to stand against ignorant impressions of Islam. Referring to groups and factions that promote their totally wrong and ignorant views of religion as Devine teaching in the society, he said, “They introduce Islam to the world as a promoter of extremism and violence, unknowing that the religion that prophet Muhammad (pbuh) presented to the world invites all people to live a collective life with peace, serenity and tranquility.”

Hujjat al-Islam Mokhtari went on to say, “In such a situation, universities and academic and scientific centers, especially the university of Religions and Denominations have a great responsibility in this regard.”

Development of branches of the university of Religions and Denominations

The president of the university of Religions and Denominations mentioned the development of university branches inside and outside the country as one of the university’s upcoming plans and stated, “Now we have three branches in the Iranian cities of Sanandaj, Bandar Abbas and Zahedan and getting prepared to start branches in other cities such as Booshehr and Orumieh, too. There have also been many requests asking for our branches outside Iran that we are looking into them.”
