۸۶-Year-Old Palestinian Seeking to Memorize Quran

Hajj Yusuf Ababasa is an 86-year-old Palestinian man whose old age has not prevented him from trying to learn the Quran by heart.

Hawzah News Agency - Hajj Yusuf, who lives in Kfar Kanna town in the Occupied Palestine, calligraphed a copy of the entire Quran ten years ago.

 

Since then, he has dedicated part of his time everyday reciting and memorizing the Quran.

 

He has so far learned three fourth of the Holy Book by heart.

 

Spending 4 hours a day reciting the Quran, he hopes to manage to memorize the entire Quran in a short period of time.

 

The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.

 

Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.

 

The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
