Ayat. Raasti Kashani passes away

Senior seminary clerics offered condolences on the demise of Ayatollah Raasti Kashani, a prominent Islamic scholar who passed away on Wednesday.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Ayatollah Hussain Raasti Kashani, one of the oldest members of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom passed away on Wednesday.

With more than fifty years of teaching experience in Islamic seminaries of Kashan, holy Najaf and Qom, Ayatollah Hussain Raasti Kashani contributed so much to the promotion of Islamic teachings and the school of the Ahlul-Bayt (as). He was one of the most prominent professors of Islamic ethics in seminary, with a large number of scholars benefiting from his classes.

 

Ayatollah Raasti Kashani was a revolutionary cleric who supported late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic revolution of Iran, in his struggles against Shah, since the very first days.

The late Ayatollah Raasti also served the Islamic Revolution after its victory in different positions, such as membership of Imam Khomeini’s Fatwa Office and head of the Supreme Council of Qom Islamic Seminary. He was also a member of Assembly of Experts for the first two terms. He left valuable legacies with his great scientific and cultural services.

 

Following the demise of Ayatollah Raasti Kashani, Prominent seminary clerics and groups sent their messages of condolence.

In a message, Ayatollah Arafi, head of Islamic seminaries of Iran offered his condolences.

 

The Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom extended a message of condolences, too.

Head of Kashan Islamic seminary, head of women Islamic seminaries of Iran and the representative of Kashan in the Iranian parliament also sent separate messages of condolences on the demise of Ayatollah Raasti Kashani.
