The doctrine of Qom seminary as well as Iran’s Islamic Revolution is based on a rational and moderate interpretation of Islam; True Islam fights oppression and injustice.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – In a meeting with the participants of an international Islamic course in Qom on Sunday, August 20, head of Iranian seminaries Ayatollah Alireza Arafi remarked, “There are presently  three interpretations of Islam in the world; We, as followers of Islamic Revolution, believe in only one of these interpretations.”

Member of the Supreme Council of Iranian Seminaries asserted, “The first interpretation is the one which promotes liberalism and secularism.”

“The second interpretation in the present world believes in radical extremist views and defines Islam as a violent and irrational religion.”

Head of Iranian seminaries further added, “The first interpretation ignores the social aspect of Islam and avoids fighting against injustice and oppression; the second doctrine has nothing to do with logical Islamic teachings and Iranian seminaries do not accept these two false interpretations of Islam.”

“The doctrine of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution which is also being practiced in Islamic seminaries today believes in the third interpretation of Islam which is based on a rationalism and moderation. This interpretation opposes injustice and fights oppression.”

The senior scholar went on, “We hope that Muslim youth who adhere to Ahlulbayt’s (as) teachings follow on this path of genuine Islam and accumulate their knowledge in order to promote Islamic teachings and guide mankind.”

End.
