Armed men blow up ISIS weapons accumulation in Iraq's Tel Afar

A group of armed men attacked a large weapons cache belonging to ISIS (or Daesh) in Iraq’s northern city of Tal Afar, killing a number of terrorists before blowing up the depot.

Hawzah News Agency (Tal Afar, Iraq)According to several local sources, the unidentified armed men have now escaped the scene, with the ISIS terrorists setting up checkpoints across the city to hunt the attackers.

The number of terrorists killed at the scene is not know yet.

The attack comes as Tal Afar (some 65 kilometres west of Mosul) is now almost surrounded by the Iraqi forces who are planning a major assault soon.

The city has fallen into the hands of ISIS since 2014. Baghdad has vowed to move onto Tel Afar and dislodge the terrorists group after it defeated them in Mosul earlier in July.
