Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) - Hojat-ol-Islam Amir Lohrasbi replaced Hojat-ol-Islam Fakhreddin Saberi.
The hail and farewell ceremony for the new and previous directors of the museum was held in Tehran on Monday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hujjat al-Islam Saberi elaborated on the measures taken to develop the museum during his term.
He said the National Quran Museum was established in 2006.
At that time, he said, the museum only contained some 40 Quran manuscripts and valuable Quranic items. Now, though, there are over 700 items, including 270 rare Quran copies, on display there, he went on to say.
