Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Speaking at a conference attended by Seminary officials in Qom on Saturday, July 22, head of Iran's Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi pointed out the high status of seminaries as the main axis of Iran's Islamic Revolution.

"The Islamic seminaries are the subject of enemies' plots and conspiracies. The adversaries are aware of Islamic seminaries' global influence and the doctrines currently being promoted in the seminary of Qom and other Iranian seminaries." he remarked.

Highlighting that Iranian Supreme leader ayatollah Khamenei is concerned with maintaining the revolutionary spirit at Islamic seminaries in Iran, Ayatollah Arafi added, "Regarding the foundation of Islamic Revolution, Iranian seminaries must create a civilizational doctrine. Late Imam Khomeini (ra) introduced a moderate interpretation of Islam as the basis of 1979 Revolution in Iran. That specific interpretation was based on the civilizational doctrine of Islam."

Member of the Iranian Seminaries' Supreme Council further elaborated on characteristics of Revolutionary seminary asserting that such seminary has certain responsibilities including addressing the needs of people as well as the revolution itself."

"Engaging in politics must not be regarded as a downside for the seminaries; rather, the fact that Islamic seminaries are politically involved in world's affairs is considered as a medal of honor for them." The senior cleric concluded.
