Hawzah News agency (Mashhad, Iran) – Saudi and Bahraini Shias in Mashhad held a commemoration ceremony to pay tribute to the Shia youth who have recently been martyred by Saudi forces in Qatif city in the Eastern province of the country.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants of the event emphasized that the blood of these innocent martyrs who were brutally executed by Al Saud regime as well as the blood of all other Shia martyrs in Saudi Arabia's Eastern province will soon lead to the overthrow of the inhumane and violent Saudi regime.

Since February 2011, Saudi Arabia has stepped up security measures in Eastern province, which has been rocked by anti-regime demonstrations, with protesters demanding free speech, the release of political prisoners, and an end to economic and religious discrimination.

The government has suppressed pro-democracy movements, but they have intensified since January 2016 when Saudi Arabia executed respected Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.
