Interfaith Meeting held at University of Islamic Sects in Qom

“Religions need to engage in interfaith dialogues in order to promote peace and friendship in present and future.” said French Cardinal.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) –Cardinal Do Ghoust, head of Church affairs in France, along with two other French religious scholars paid a visit to the university of Islamic Sects and Denominations in Qom, Iran and met with Hujjat al-Islam Jafar Tayyari, vice president of the university, to discuss ongoing religious studies in Iran.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, the French delegation gave ear to Mr Salehi, Head of the scientific cooperation department of the university, and listened to his presentation on the academic activities of the University of Islamic Sects as well as a its history.

 

Later, Cardinal Do Ghoust expressed his enthusiasm in promoting interfaith dialogue with Iranian universities and seminaries, especially university of Islamic sects, in order to become familiar with the ongoing comparative studies between religions which are currently taking place in Iran; “We need to promote interfaith dialogues between Islam and Christianity in order to spread peace and friendship worldwide.”
