 Freedom and Dignity Hunger Strike Enters Day ۱۳ during Continued Israeli Crackdown

The freedom and dignity strike entered its thirteenth day on Saturday, with more than 1500 Palestinian prisoners in have been going ahead with their hunger strike, amid a continued Israeli crackdown on prisoners and Palestinians voicing solidarity with them as well.

Hawzah News Agency (West Bank, Palestine)‌ - Media Committee for Palestinian Prisoners’ Hunger Strike — a joint committee formed by the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and Palestinian Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs said in a statement that Israeli forces stormed the cells of hunger-striking Palestinian detainees on Friday in Israeli prison of al-Ramla, where prisoners have abstained from drinking water for three days as of Saturday.

The statement confirmed meanwhile, that “Israel Prison Service” IPS has continued transferring the hunger strikers into solitary confinement and between different Israeli prisons in an attempt to separate hunger strikers from one another and break the strike.

 

On the other hand, Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out repressive measures against Palestinians who are taking to streets in solidarity with the hunger strikes. Occupation authorities have been since Thursday imposing general closure on West Bank, in a bid to prevent Palestinians from gathering in support of the prisoners.
