Israeli forces shoot, injure Palestinian woman for alleged stabbing attack

Israeli forces have shot and injured a Palestinian woman, whom they alleged to have attempted a stabbing attack against an Israeli police officer near a checkpoint between the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem al-Quds.

Hawzah News Agency - Israeli police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri claimed that the Palestinian woman, 39, who was waiting to be inspected at the Qalandiya checkpoint, attacked a female police and injured her

slightly on Monday.

She said police opened fire on the Palestinian woman, who was taken into custody to be interrogated by Israeli forces.

Meanwhile, 14 other Palestinians have been detained by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. According to local source, Israeli forces stormed the Saleh Prophet Village in the northwestern city of Ramallah and

detained the Palestinians.

In one case, they broke into a Palestinian house in the village and arrested five youths, including two boys aged under 15.

The other Palestinians were arrested in the West Bank cities of Ramallah and Nablus and the town of Abu Dais in East Jerusalem al-Quds.

The occupied Palestinian territories have witnessed increased tensions ever since Israeli forces introduced restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds in

August 2015.

More than 300 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces since the beginning of October 2015. Some 37 Israelis have also been killed since then.
