"By continuing their fight against their oppressive rulers, the Bahraini people and scholars will eventually overthrow the Al Khalifah regime since they cannot stand such mass protests much longer," said a senior Shia cleric.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – As the day of Shaikh Isa Qasim’s trial in Bahrain is approaching, Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Gerami condemned the Al Khalifah measures in oppressing Bahraini citizens and arresting Shaikh Isa Qasim, saying, "The Bahraini people are a truly revolutionary nation, during the last years, they’ve proved, through popular protests, their unwavering strive to realize their legitimate rights."

The seminary lecturer added, "By continuing their fight against their oppressive rulers, the Bahraini people and scholars will eventually overthrow the Al Khalifah regime since they cannot stand such mass protests much longer."

"Ayatollah Shaikh Qasim is regarded as a revolutionary leader and a true hero by the Bahraini people; Islamic seminaries voice solidarity with this great scholar and thank him for his sincere efforts in supporting Bahraini revolution," Hawzah News quoted Ayatollah Gerami as saying.

Ayatollah Gerami further reiterated, "This Bahraini Shia scholar showed the world that Bahraini citizens have certain rights which need to be recognized by their rulers; but Al Khalifah chose to carry out inhumane crimes instead of recognizing their people’s legitimate rights."

"Religious scholars as well as Islamic seminaries in Qom and Najaf slam the violent crimes of Al Khalifah regime and voiced support for the Bahraini Shia leader, Ayatollah Shaykh Isa Qasim," Ayatollah Gerami concluded.
