Ansarullah Spokesman: Ending Cruel Siege on Yemen Precondition for Peace Talks

The spokesman for Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement underlined that the movement’s stance on peace negotiations is unchanging and that putting an end to the Saudi-led aggression is a precondition for any talks.

Hawzah News Agency (San'aa, Yemen) - According to Yemen's Arabic-language al-Masirah TV, Mohammed Abdulsalam said resumption of peace talks with the Saudi-led coalition hinges on the realization of some preconditions, including the end of the cruel siege on the Arabian Peninsula country.

"Our firm stance continues to be what was signed in Muscat about cecassion of acts of aggression…," the Yemeni spokesman said.

In remarks released on Friday, March ۳, the Ansarullah political council chief, Saleh al-Samad, said no measures have been taken to resume peace talks and that recent developments in the political arena and battlefields signal dangerous escalations.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by a coalition led by the Saudi regime for nearly two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Nearly 11,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
