Hujjat al-Islam Golzar pointed out that English as the international language should be taught in seminary schools since it has the potential to prepare clerics for promoting divine teachings in international scale.

Hawzah News Agency (Kashan, Iran) – Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Javad Golzar, a Shia cleric and head of the Institute for International Cultural Relations, attended a meeting held for the Iranian seminary students  who can speak foreign languages; during the event, he emphasized the importance of  incorporating foreign language courses in seminary schools including English and Arabic. “During their 10 years of study in the seminary school the clerics have enough time to learn some foreign languages in order to better communicate with the world.” Hujjat al-Islam Golzar said.

 

Head of the Institute for International Cultural Relations further reiterated that clerics are already familiar with Arabic language and therefore they can go on to achieve Arabic competence in a year or so.

 

Elsewhere in his remarks, Hujjat al-Islam Golzar pointed out that English as the international language should be taught in seminary schools since it has the potential to prepare clerics for promoting divine teachings in international scale. He also urged clerics to learn English as a means for international communications.

 

At the end of the meeting, Golzar asserted that there currently are as many as 90 traditional houses in the Iranian city of Kashan, emphasizing that such historic sites provide an opportunity for cultural activists to introduce the rich Iranian culture to the whole world.
