“The world’s nations have so far tried all human systems of government and have seen them all fail to realize their promised commitments," said a Shia cleric in Karbala. “Today, all Iraqis must unite their resolve to focus on uprooting terrorism from their homeland."

Hawzah News Agency (Karbala, Iraq) – A group of Iraqi scholars and heads of tribes from Salah al-Din province met with Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Taqi Modarresi, a Shia cleric in the city of Karbala on Tuesday, February 14.

During the meeting, the Ayatollah asserted that in order for the world to stop the current global crises, the people need to take on a new attitude towards religions and their influence.

The Shia cleric went on, “Today, all Iraqis must unite their resolve to focus on uprooting terrorism from their homeland; our next step would be to come up with a lasting solution to bring all Iraqi tribes and parties to a consensus in order to establish a peaceful cohabitation based on mutual respect and friendship among Iraqi ethnicities. For centuries, all Iraqis including Shia and Sunni Muslims as well as Christians have coexisted in a peaceful manner.”

Ayatollah Modarresi asked all Muslims to adhere to Quran as well as Prophet Muhammad’s (as) teachings as the main pillars of unity among the Islamic Ummah and to preserve the rich history of Islam as a valuable legacy. “

“Even today, Islam could save the whole world,” Hawzah quoted Ayatollah Modarresi as saying.

"The world’s nations have so far tried all human systems of government and have seen them all fail to realize their promised commitments. As of today, the Brexit serves as a sign of imperialist powers’ incompetency to run the world’s affairs; the troubles that the world’s nations are currently dealing with are caused by such imperialism."
