“If I were in Bahrain, I would join the Bahrainis’ sit-in outside Sheikh Isa Qassim’s house in Diraz to protect him,” said a senior Shia cleric. If the Al Khalifah rulers were wise, they would listen to his advices because they are invaluable.”

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani received a group of Bahraini scholars who are currently residing in Qom, Iran.

During the meeting which was held in his office on Saturday, January 28, the Shia cleric said, “It’s unwise of Bahraini citizens to back down on their resolve after all these sacrifices and hardships they’ve been through. It’s wrong to retreat in the face of Al Khalifah.”

He added, “This revolution must be preserved, it must be kept alive in Bahrainis’ hearts and communities; but it also needs to be backed up by wise and moderate strategies so it does not drain out Bahrainis’ resolve.”

Ayatollah Sobhani further voiced his support for Bahraini Shias spiritual leader,  reiterating, “It’s a religious obligation to protect and defend Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim; he’s considered as the leader of Shia Muslims in Bahrain.”

“Revocation of Sheikh Isa’s citizenship or arresting him would bring about serious consequences; therefore, it’s a religious obligation to protect Sheikh Isa and his house from Al Khalifah forces.”

The Shia source of emulation concluded his remarks by saying, “Sheikh Isa’s words are truly peaceful and rational; if the Al Khalifah rulers were wise, they would listen to his advice because they are invaluable.”
