Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Hujjat al-Islam Vaez Mousavi, an official of the Iranian seminaries, made some remarks on Thursday, January 26 during a commemorative convention held to celebrate the life of late Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi in Qom's Grand Mosque, Iran.

During the event, Hujjat al-Islam Vaez appreciated late Ayatollah Borujerd's efforts in approximating different Islamic sects in order to boost unity among the Muslim Ummah.

He added," Late Ayatollah Borujerdi truly cared for people's religious beliefs and would attentively answer their inquiries regarding religion. He would dispatch the best Muslim lecturers and scholars as his representatives to promote Islam in and outside of Iran.  This is considered as one of his eminence's major steps in introducing the world to Shia Islam and promoting its doctrine,"

" The Late Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Husayn Borujerdi used the Islamic approximation approach as a basis for his activities in uniting the Islamic Ummah and to introduce the world to Shia Islam."

Hujjat al-Islam Mousavi went on to say, "One of the key characteristics of late Ayatollah Borujerdi's religious authority was his approach to religious approximation between Islamic sects. We hope to use his teachings as a means of further introducing Shia Islam to the world effectively,"

The Shia cleric concluded his remarks by raising a question; "If the trilateral partnership among the Islamic seminaries of Najaf, Qom and Mashhad in Iran team up with the triangle of Mecca, Medina and Cairo in an effort to form a strong, united Islamic alliance, would Islam's adversaries still be able to infiltrate the Islamic world and cause discord among Muslims?"
