Conference called ‘Sadaf-e-Kawthar’ kicks off in the Iranian city of Qom to commemorate the life of Lady Khadijah (sa), Prophet Muhammad’s (sawa) wife.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) - The conference was organized to review the life of Lady Khadijah (sa) and promote her virtues; Many scholars and university academics took part in the event which was held in the holy city of Qom on Thursday, December 22.

 

At the beginning of the event, Hujjat al-Islam Nasser Rafiee, chairman of the conference, elaborated on the objectives of holding the event.

 

Then Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, a senior cleric and key note speaker of the event, made some remarks regarding Lady Khadijah’s life (sa) saying, “This noble lady worshipped Allah prior to Muhammad’s (sawa) appointment to prophethood; she believed in the Abrahamic religion and was a monotheist,”

 

The senior cleric further highlighted that Lady Khadijah (sa) learned many great lessons from the teachings of Abrahamic religions and gained a lot of wisdom, “Lady Khadijah (sa) was a true monotheist and wise women, we’re honored to have had such a mother and that our holy Shia Imams are descendants of this eminent lady,”

 

In another part of the conference, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a Shia source of emulation, addressed the audience saying, “Given the circumstances in which we’re faced with political and economic sanctions, we must also resist and persevere in our resolve the same way Lady Khadijah (sa) did during the early period of Islam,”

 

“A Sunni scholar once said that Lady Khadijah (sa) was the greatest women in the world during her lifetime as she possessed numerous virtues; She was considered as a pious, wise and a noble lady,”

 

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi reiterated that Lady Khadijah’s life (sa) serves as a model for all men and women in the world and added, “Lady Khadijah dedicated all her life and wealth to Prophet Muhammad (sawa).”
