"The first principle to preserve Islam’s honor is through having faith. If one does not have faith in his or her religion, they would be weak and won't be able to face their problems in life,” Ayatollah Noori said.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking during a meeting with officials of the Iranian Defense Ministry, Ayatollah Noori Hamedani stated, “Preserving Islam’s honor as well as the glory of the Islamic community has been strongly emphasized in Islamic narrations and it needs certain conditions to be realized,”

 

The Shia source of emulation went on, “The first principle in order to preserve Islam’s honor is through having faith. If one does not have faith in his or her religion they would be weak and therefore not be able to face their problems in life,”

 

He then asserted that the second principle in preserving the glory of Islam is unity, “A society without unity cannot survive the world’s super powers’ assaults and threats,”

 

Ayatollah Noori Hamedani then pointed out that the third necessary principle for preserving the honor of Islam is to have the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist (Vilayat-e Faqih) in place, he further added, "If our Islamic Revolution has persisted to this date it is because of the Wali-e-Faqih, who has been leading our country,”

 

“Taking a passive position toward enemies' threats will result in undermining the honor of Islam, we must act vigorously in the face of our enemies and must not show any weakness.”

 

The senior Shia cleric, in the end referred to the ongoing conditions in Yemen and said, “The enemies’ stances regarding Yemen and its worsening conditions is due to their fear of another revolution that might be initiated in the region; in order to establish and  preserve a revolution one must be willing to sacrifice his or her life for the cause,”
